Introduction:
We are pleased to welcome you and your child/ren to the Mississauga Day Care. The Mississauga First Nation Day Care is a non-profit organization and is licensed under the Day Nurseries Act by the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
Child Care Spaces:
- Infants (6-18 months) 6 spaces
- Toddler (18-30 months) 10 spaces
- Pre-School (30 mth. – 5 yrs) 24 spaces
- After School Club 15 spaces
- Total Child Care spaces 55 spaces
The Mississauga Day Care Centre strives to provide the following:
- An environment for children that is positive, safe, secure and stimulating
- A warm atmosphere that encourages the development of children’s self confidence, self esteem and self worth.
- Activities in a setting that meets the developmental needs of all children, including their physical, intellectual, creative, emotional, social and cultural needs
- To allow single parent families the opportunities to enroll in training programs or obtain meaningful employment or higher schooling
- To encourage and provide employment opportunities for students enrolled in Early Childhood Educating Programs.
- To provide parenting skills and roll models to those parents and student volunteers requiring training in development, behaviour management and cultural growth.
- To provide the children with Native Culture such as, Singing, Dancing, Drumming, Smudging
- To have the cultural resources available.
Hours of Operation
The Day Cay Centre is open daily from Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m , 50 weeks per year with the exceptions of Statutory Holidays. The After School Club operates from 3:45 to 5:00 daily with the exception of holidays, P.D. days and summer.
Quality of Staff
We believe that our staff is one of the most important aspects in achieving quality programming. Staff is responsible for creating the atmosphere, nurturing and respecting the child and seeing that he/she grows in the best way that he/she possibly can.
