Smoking Cessation

Want to quit smoking? Don't think about it, join our Smoking Cessation. This program will begin January 18th, 2012 and will be offered every 2nd Wednesday in the activity room at the Dream Catchers Complex. This course is being offered at no cost - A certified Tobacco Treatment Instructor/Tobacco Intervention will lead the group. .

Calling all young women between the ages of 14 - 18 years for the Maanjiiduck Program
Are you interested in learning about the history of Mississauga, Turtle Island and the Clan System? How about New Age Topics such as auras and chakras? What about preparing yourself for college life, learning the effects of binge drinking, culture shock and teen pregnancies? Want to learn about applying make-up properly and hair styling?
Do we have your attention yet?
Come on out and join us for the eight sessions every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 pm to 9 pm during the month of October. We will be starting on October 4, 2011, at the Miijim Centre. Hope to see you there.
Facilitators include Nikki Desbiens, Evelyn Niganobe, Linda Vincent, and Rita Wilson. This program is sponsored by the Health and Social Services Unit of the Mississauga First Nation.

Nutritional Box Program

The Nutritional Box Program aims to provide pregnant women and families with children 0 to 6yrs with fresh fruits and vegetables once a month.
The program will follow the Canada Food Guide and encourages families to provide proper nutrition; it will incorporate recipes to help families and new moms to cook with fruits and vegetables.
