Mississauga First Nation Annual Health Fair A Success - 26/05/10

On May 20th, 2010, the Mississauga First Nation Health & Social Services Unit hosted its annual health fair at the Mississauga First Nation Sports Complex. Representatives form every department of the health unit were on-site to serve as educators to patrons from the community and surrounding area.

Participants had the chance to visit with department employees to find out specific information about what each department has to offer and what programming is being facilitated in the community.

Community members also had the chance to participate in activities which gave them a chance to walk away with door prizes. Some of these door prize activities incuded; mini-putt, a poker walk and a draw for a grand prize of a canoe package.


Health Centre

Sharpe's Containers/BioHazardous Materials can be brought into the Health Centre for proper discarding. We do not want any of this material at our local landfill site. Containers can be picked up at the Health Centre.

Women's Breast Screening Clinic

We are now taking names for those ladies that are due for their visit to the Ontario Breast Screening Clinic. You can call and leave your name with Mary Ellen Morningstar @ 356-1621 Ext # 2201. Watch for more details on website and community flyers.

Health Cards

Service Ontario will be available to do New Ontario Health Cards on June 28/2010. Please have a look at your health cards, they do have expiry dates on them. You must call 1-800--268-1154 to make an appointment.
