Chief's News

JULY UPDATE

7/18/2018

Aanii/Boozhoo,

We’re now halfway through the month of July. Chief and Council is keeping busy with meetings every second Wednesday (next meeting scheduled for Wednesday July 25th). You can view meetings through the web or sit in live at the Mississauga Council Chambers, everyone is always welcome and encouraged to attend. Council meetings start at 6pm but please feel free to join us at any time. Committee meetings are also ongoing each month and MFN Members are also encouraged to participate in such meetings. For a full list of active committees as well as meeting dates please contact Chief and Council secretary Crystal Chiblow at cncsecretary@mississaugi.com and she will accommodate your request.

This weekend the annual Mississauga First Nation Pow Wow takes place with Grand Entry starting on July 21st at noon. The Pow Wow grounds are being prepared this week as well as finalizing the participants. Please tell your friends and have them tell their friends that the Pow Wow is open to everyone and free for the entire weekend. Their will be plenty of opportunity to learn as well as join in the ceremonies and celebration.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there and I hope everyone takes the time to say hello and visit our wonderful event.

Miigwetch and see you this weekend.
