trust notices

What is a Community Trust?
A Trust is an arrangement that is set up to keep something in custody and care for the benefit of others. This could include land, money, or other assets from claims and settlements.

Mississauga First Nation has established a Trust Fund and a Board of Trustees to manage the land claim agreement settlement in 1994. The Trust is designed to manage and care for the fund for the benefit of the entire community.

The trustees were appointed by Chief and Council and will make decisions about the use of the assets that are generated by the Trust Account. The Trustees will work with the community to decide how the money should be invested and report on the status of the investments as well as help distribute the funds through loans for economic development within the community.
